ICU – the Electronic Control Unit for Breathing Apparatus

 

This alarm system continually monitors the following:

  • Pressure
  • Motion
  • Temperature
  • Remaining service time
  • Battery capacity


The ICU replaces the simple standard pressure gauge but incorporates a gauge in addition to the electronic features. Furthermore, the ICU has a motion sensor which gives alarm if the user is motionless thus facilitating locating and helping the fire fighter.

The advantages of the ICU:

  • Electronic control unit with pressure sensor and mechanical pressure gauge [back up system]
  • Automatic activation when opening compressed air cylinder
  • Indication of proper functioning by LEDs
  • Illuminated display on inquiry, e.g. remaining service time, pressure alarming
  • Audible alarm with varying sound patterns at pressure levels of:
    150 bar - 100 bar - 60 bar
  • Additional visible alarm [LEDs] from 60 bar dow
  •  Indication of dropping pressure by graphic symbol
  • Indication of cylinder pressure on luminescent analog pressure gauge
  • Retreat time can be programmed
  • Audible warning at temperature increase
  • Battery capacity indication and audible warning of low battery
  • Integral motion sensor
  • Flashing LED and audible alarm at motion stand-still
  • Button for manual alarm in emergencies
  • Data storage of information for up to 30 hours of use duration
  • User-friendly readout software for PC
  • Flexible alarm point setting via software
  • Standard interface to PC
  • Key can be retrofitted as an option
